Birthday coming up soon and been thinking about a handheld GPS.

Can anyone out there share any lessons learned?

I have the little yellow etrex model and am delighted with it. Retails for about 120.00. Can store many waypoints and has other
features I haven't used yet. It does eat batteries if you leave
it on all the time-- so I check it and turn it off between

Jim - I bought a Garmin 12 (for $109) in a Boat/US auction and have been very happy with it.
