This will be a question with many answers and opinions, but here goes. What is faster and which combination will point higher when over powered? Maximum jib with reefed main or small jib with full main? Small jib and full main being let out to depower? Can you point higher with good boat speed with a 150 and reefed main or 110 and full main?
In the spirit of blowing considerable smoke... The center of effort needs to produce weather helm to maximize pointing. Just off the top of my head I would assume that would imply the main as the sail which needs to produce the most power. Little main plus big head sail is lee helm. anyone anyone?

With that said the C250 is notorious for too much weather helm would this off set the excessive weather helm? When in a over powered situation it would seem that this set up would be faster. I had the 135 jib out and the first reef in the main with winds blowing 12-15 mph with gusts considerably higher and the weather helm was only excessive in the hard puffs.
Last Sept., on our last race of the year, we had strong winds (20+ & gusting!!)There are 2 250wk in our club on the lake. (Mine is number 586 & he is 587!)I usually have no trouble beating him in light air as I have the 135% & he has the 110% Jib. (Just before this race, he went out and bought a 150% genoa because he felt he needed it to keep up with/pass me!!) He did not have a chance to change over his sail before the race (Darn it!!). To make a long story short, he beat my a** off with that 110!!! I was reefed and had pulled my 135 in, but I was still way over powered. I kept rounding up all over the course, a couple of times a full 360 degrees!!!!. I finally got it back under control, but I had bring the Genny almost all the way in. By then, it was too late and he was way ahead of me. On the other hand, he had practically no problems with that 110. He had good sail shape and had no rounding up problems. In strong winds, I would definately go with the 110 and a reefed main.
