Hi All, Our club has a new member that has not taken out his Cat 25 yet. He wants to take lessons first. He had his son visiting and did some finish work on the teak. The son works in the motor boat industry and told him they always finish off teak trim with PAM, you know the stuff you cook with. They sanded off the old varnish, sprayed some PAM on a rag and I tell you it looks great. He said they just spray a little on a rag every few months and give it a wipe down to keep it fresh. Think I'll pick up a can next time I'm in the store and let you know how it works.
There could be some truth to that. Have you seen the residue that gets on a pan after using (PAM) for a while? It is like coal tar! What flavor does he prefer, Butter or original?

Matt: By "boat industry", do you mean new boats? I'm wondering, over time, what UV does to PAM (along the lines of atgep's comment).
I'm not sure if the fellow is in manufacturing or retailing, I think the latter. They use it mostly on the swim ladders and what ever odd bit of wood you find on a motor boat. I didn't think of the UV properties, my mind is stuck on the polly unsaturated fats and the possibilities of possable plugged fuel lines due to a higher chlosterol level.

Does this mean they are going to come out with a 22 dollar all white can of Marine Pam. It would come without the nozzle (sold separately for different applications or without instructions?)
