Seriously speaking... I wonder what the C25 90 degree righting moment at the masthead... probably a lot less than 250 lbs. Also what the 'point of no recovery' is for various loads at the masthead. The possibility of taking a swim migh be greater than one would think.
Boy that red paint job sure looks sharp! I read somewhere that a sailing chap uses a chair for most jobs, but installed fold down steps the last 3 feet(Can't recall exact feet) on top of the mast only. This way he could use steps to climp to top and get better view of masthead, where chair only goes so high... The steps afford higher climb and more security.
I recommend referring to that Sail article. They had some great ideas like a cloth ladder that goes up in place of the main halyard. Raise the ladder up the main halyard, then climb the ladder. It's made from rope and webbing so it stores easy.
