Hi there,
This morning I picked up my local paper and on the front page is a big color picture of a sailboat on the interstate. some guy from Ohio was traveling to Florida trailing his 24 footer (can't tell what kind) without straps on it. His tow vehicle was a van. The boat started fishtailing and the boat left the trailer. Fortunately no one was hurt or no other collisions. The article tells of a long white and blue streak on the highway. It slid 150 feet. the driver stated that he will use straps now.

You can see a thumbnail pic at

http://www.knoxnews.com

If you want to read the story you have to register with the newspaper. I hate that. Must be a way of harvesting e-mail addresses.
But I covered the main point: Nimrod tows boat

He might be lucky the boat came off... That fishtailing could have turned into a jacknife, and from that into a rollover...

actually, the boat came off in Knoxville, tying up traffic for 3 hours, and 5 miles on the interstate

good thing I was working overtime last night to pay for boat parts

It looks like it was a keel boat, possibly an old Cal T-4. They were 24 footers made back in the '70's.

There will always be idiots with boats,
idiots with cars,
idiots with guns,
idiots with children,
Don't get me started.
I think the lottery is a tax on stupidity,
and I think it would be nice if only tax-payers could vote.
Why is it that some unfortunate parents who love their children and do the best they can ... the kids die.
And idiot parents have children and they abuse them,
kick them out of the house for smoking, or other stupid crap.

I wish you could buy common sense in a gumball dispenser at Denny's.
