I'm going to add a pair of speakers to the cockpit of my boat. Any recommendations on which pair to buy? I've been in two West Marine stores a Boat US store, and a Boaters' World, but their facilities for testing speakers left much to be desired. I'd like something on the small side (5" or 6") and not too expensive.

Poly Planar makes nice affordable speakers with metal grills, I used 5.5" at the back of my cockpit.

Bruce, When I bought my boat I had installed Flush mount West Marine speakers see link:

I've had the boat in a wet slip since 2002, knock wood never had a problem, and like the sound so much I'd buy the same when it comes time to replace some day. I have Bose box speakers down below, love my music!
