While discussion is progressing regarding the rules, perhaps it's time to abolish the one limiting size of windows in genoas. What is the reason to limit them to 3 square feet? Surely commonsense dictates that this is a safety factor and such a limit is ridiculous! I've just had a new light air genoa built, and my sailmaker was incredulous when I told him of this rule. Totally agree with you on that one Derek! When things get tight around the start or around the mark that 155 hugging the deck creates a huge blind spot.
