It could be a steal if there is no real damage. A day of poly-glow and some tweaking could have someone in a boat at half the price. It would be the best way for someone to upgrade to a wing if you already have a nice boat(engine, sails, rig etc). It even comes with a 9.9 kilcer! 4500 OBO, I would offer 3000 and demand the bicycle!

Is that a swing? Did they make the swing in '87? It looks like a fin--deeper than a wing--unless it's a swinger jammed into the dirt.

It looks like a wing with the starboard wing sunk in the mud. If you look close you can see what appears to be the port wing sticking up in the grass. If it is a wing and the ground would have been hard she would still be standing straight. The nose blocking height seems to indicate a wing also.
Too bad someone let such a beautiful boat go to the dogs. If I was in the market I would also offer 3000 and maybe go to 3500 if it was in good shape structually.

I wonder how they got the boat to where it is sitting? It certainly isn't on a trailer, so it must have been brought to that spot by some kind of crane or travel lift. Is it in a boat yard with a travel lift on-site? Or is this boat just sitting abandoned and rotting away in someone's front yard? If so, the buyer would have to come equipped not only with a trailer, but would have to rent a crane, or a BIG forklift, to get the boat up off the ground and get it positioned on the trailer. Figure maybe $400 to $600 for a half-day rent of a 5-ton capacity Pettibone crane, plus the cost of buying or building a trailer for the boat, and suddenly the $4500 asking price doesn't look like such a fantastic bargain, even if the boat is pristine inside, which looks doubtful, judging from the condition of the exterior, and it's look of forlorn abandonment.

Don't forget the bike! I suspect that there is a lift as there is another boat in the picture that is yard art as well. I have a wing trailer so that part would be easy. I wonder if it is a tall rig???? How to convince the wife I NEED a second 25 wing. There have been several people looking for THIS boat.

I agree. I think it's a wing.

The swing keel would extend farther aft.

I'll call on it today and get the gory details.

So people like me can get a boat for a song!

I bought my C25, with a newer engine and all the bells and whistles, for $2,600.00 because the PO neglected (not abused) the boat. HIs loss, my gain. As a matter of fact, I sold my older, much less equipped 78' Macgregor 25 for more than I paid for my C25.

I like the idea of the kilcer. Between that and the bicycle stand I have to say this is one rare piece. I don't have a kilcer on my current boat but I am starting to think I might need one. I haven't seen any strings on this website about kilcers.

Wasn't the kilcer made by that english company that made bluebirds?
