I have an opportunity to buy a used asymetrical cruising chute. I do not know what size I need for a tall rig. Here are the dimensions of the chute - 32'6" luff x 19'6" foot. It was made for a 25' C&C.
It is about a foot longer than optimal but that just means you will not be able to reach as high with it. It should still be fine for most points of sail that it is intended for. IMHO $250 or under... buy it, over... get a sail that fits.
The max girth on a spinnaker is 18'10 3/4" inches, according to class rules, so IMHO, it is not narrower than I would expect. As a cruising sail, you are likely to fly it most in light conditions where extra sail area would be a good thing. Go for it....but just know that you would have to have it cut down in order to use it in a One Design race.
