To see more of Catalina

and Santa Barbara Island

2 weeks, 323 miles, 62.3 hours underway, 20 gallons of fuel, lots of motorsailing and several memorable sails.

Fantastic pics Jim, thanks for sharing.
Whenever I see rock formations as pictured they takes my breath away. I suppose that's what comes from living on a sand bar, elevation about five feet.

What a wonderful time! I had no idea that the Channel Islands had such nice anchorages. Someday I want to take a diving trip there with Truth Aquatics, just haven't got around to it yet. Looking at the photos on your web page makes me even more disappointed that I had to cancel my own cruise to the San Juans last month! And now Folsom Lake marina is closed for the year due to low lake level; no more sailing for me this year unless I decide to move my boat somewhere else

It was a great trip and I hope some more people decide to go next year. I am thinking of Mexico. How about sailing 40 miles south, taking a guest slip at the Hotel Coral (Ensenada) complete with hotel rooms for the wife and kids, pool with swim up bar, etc. Then going daysailing to points south to explore northern Baja while using Hotel Coral as home base?

Or else I could be up for San Diego to Santa Cruz island (including Catalina coming and going).

This year was the San Juans and Gulf Islands trip. Had a great time. However, I am an avid snorkler/swimmer and you don't do much of that in the San Juans. My wife wants to go back to Catalina and maybe willing for heading to the outer islands. We would be interested in combining the Catalina Rendevous at Two Harbors with a more challenging sail afterwards.

Last year we spent a few days sailing around Catalina Island and also stopped at Little Harbor. Unfortunately we were there at full moon and very high tides. The waves were coming over the rocks in front of the anchorage,it was very rolly. The admiral retired early.

Yes, If I do this next year I'd want to include the Catalina Rendevouz.
