He'll give you a tow if you need it, even if you're not a sail boat:

This is on Spruce Run Resevoir, in NJ. Story is the balloon was running low on gas on a windless day. They were at tree top level pulling themselves along by the branches trying to find a place to put the thing down without ripping it.....My buddy towed them to a little beach where they set down and deflated the thing safely.

Just when you thought you'd seen it all.....

Neat photo Oscar!
Sailboats and Hot Air Balloons CAN cohabitate!
I just sent a copy to a friend and co-worker of mine who has a balloon I crew for when he takes it up. Funny, he's always looking for calm days (3-5knts) and I'm always looking for windy ones! He said he's known other people getting towed by motorboats but never a sailboat!

Looks like a Seaward... That's fortunate in that he can actually get in close to a beach. You, Oscar, might have to leave him to swim it in from a hundred yards out!

Incredible!! :-O

If he gets any lower you've got a heck of a sea anchor.

Thanks for posting this.

Good point Dave....on the other hand, I would have let them land on the foredeck, and we could have neatly folded it on the side decks.......

Hey,
The Admrial and I got married on a hot air balloon in Sonoma county. Beautiful. I hope your friend gets a ride from the guy for the tow.
