OK. I had a little tiny leak in my windows. So I did what other have done: Carefully used windshield sealant and injected it under the seals. Now my little leak is a steady flow. Thinking about pulling the windows and buying new vinyl from CD. Anyone done this job?

I attempted to reseal the windows on my '79 C-25 using silicone, and it didn't totally work, one of the windows still leaked a little. So I tried to disassemble the window frame to install new vinyl gasket, and could not get the aluminum frame loose from the bedding compound. From what I have heard from others, the task of resealing the stock aluminum framed windows using all new gaskets (total disassembly required), is a huge amount of work and is kind of hit-or-miss - sometimes the &^$%* window STILL leaks after doing all that work. If I was faced with this job again, I would at least check out the retrofit kit that is available to convert the OEM aluminum and glass windows to flush-mount Lexan windows. The are said to last at least two or three times longer between re-sealings, and are easier to re-seal than the old style windows. I guess it depends on how long you think you will keep this boat, as to whether the cost of the retrofit kit is justifiable or not. Good luck!
The archives has lots of stuff on windows, I believe. I remember writing a while back on fixing one of mine, I think the title was "windows tra la". I DID take the window out, I DID NOT fully disassemble it, but cleaned up and put new goop between the frame and the boat, and between the window and the frame. No leaks. If you are in a really warm climate, I advise against auto butyl tape for repair. It seals great, but "runs" in real heat (read:Florida) Good luck, ron srsk Orion Venice FL
