<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size=2 id=quote> Close. Pictures are from Barnes Sound. Its South of Biscayne Bay. Florida Bay is a few miles West.
Cathy: Do you see the outboard lifted up? (No--it's down on the port side.) Do you see the propwash to port? (Yes.) Does that explain the speed? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
Albert: Very nice teak! <img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> By the look of that wake someone is motoring.
I've been busted!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Actually had 20 knots of wind that day. The sound is only 5 miles x 5 miles wide. Minimal fetch. Didn't put up the main, as I don't have a topping lift. My Schaffer (sp?) wire furling jib isn't rated for 20 knots.
Raising the main in strong winds with the boom attached to the pigtail and single handing isn't much fun. Last time I did that I enjoyed a significant amount of unplanned excitement as my reefed main filled instead of spilled<img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle>
I'm installing a Garhauer solid boom vang later today. Will make raising the main much safer.
