I've been looking forward to upgrading my 86 C-25 by installing the Lewmar opening ports from Catalina Direct. Turns out they only have one left (wrong size anyhow), and they will not be offering that upgrade anymore. I've talked to Lewmar, Svendsens, Minneys, West Marine with no luck. Beckson and Bomar offer port lights, but they are plastic throughout and I would prefer aluminum / glass. To complicate matters, enlarging the cutout to fit a larger window is going to run 3 times more than the Catalina Direct price. Advise from the group would be greatly appreciated. Todd Frye

Looks as if you've done a thorough job on data mining. You even mentioned a couple of names I've never heard of. At least the Bomar product would look close to original? I went with Lewmar only because my main cabin units were aluminum.

I replaced mine with a Lewmar opening window (small front ones)
I did get them from Catalina Direct but they were a close out. Anyway they were about 2" longer and 1/2 wider than the orginal. I seems to me that they came from an older Catalina 30. With some modification to the window opening, they fit very nicely, open when you need to and don't leak. Needless to say I'm very happy with that update.

Thanks, Steve ... I would never have guessed that in a million years ... it kinda' sounded like they were talking about running lights or something!

Buz: What threw you off is they didn't call them "portlights." The technically correct terminology would have cleared it all up. <img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

Todd:
I am not sure what size the "Portlights" (aka windows in the bathroom) are on the C 25, but if it is any help I just got two Lewmar portlights from sailnet www.sailnet.com . They had others mine were ~ 6"x14"
