Just returned to the office after buying a 1994 Suburban 4*4 capable of towing 10ooo pounds and a Road King Trailer (new - ugh) so I plan on being at Nationals at Lake Cheney next July and Osmepneo will be with me.
Thanks to all who contributed to my question about tow rigs. Your answers were tremendously helpful as I searched for the tow vehicle. Thanks to wise friends who live on this site.

That is awesome news. I recieved a committment from our director od opperations last weekend and he has agreed to hold the "progressive dinner" on Saturday July 9, the Saturday of the Nationals. This year we had a mardi Gras theme and it was great. We also had a live jazz quartet. I really hope they will be back.
nice job Don, I tested the new GMC siera 3500 this summer going from Ohio to Grand Portage MN, 1000 miles in a day and a half. Now I'm ready to go to lake Cheney, I just need to know when, and where.
Frank is that your home water? I havn't raced in years but would really enjoy face time with sailors I have come to appreciate on the net. I may have not been paying attention when Nationals were announced I'll check my last issue of Mainsheet.
It is a touch early for the official notice of race. But, it will be held the weekend following the 4th of july. That makes it the 8,9, and 10 of July. It is our hope that some people will take some time off between Monday the 4th and Friday the 8th and just come on in. We would love to have people come for the fourth and stay over. Everyone will have a slip with water and shore power, (lake depth providing). A person could race in our annual "Colossus Cup' over the 4th, race the Wed night beer race on the 6th and then race the Nationals on the 9th and 10th.
John, I look forward to meeting you face to face. I've enjoyed your stories in Mainsheet, and will enjoy meeting you. My Suburband is in very good condition for a 1994, not quiet a 3500, but it will do the job. We will be there and will have a good time. Interested in racing osmepneo in a Catalina event.
After a week of title difficulties, I took delivery of the truck this morning and picked it up after getting it registered this afternoon. It is big, compared to my Sebring and Char's Volvo. But it will tow 10,000 pounds and the trailer is ordered.
I have my crew lined up and am ready for the trip to Lake Cheney and 2005 Nationals.
