Gosh! All this talk of boat buying makes we want to rush out and start shopping for a Catalina 250 Mk XIVIXVWK/WB/TR Thundersailer myself!
LOL....love that picture. Think I should post it on the 42 forum? Actually, I'm loosing hope of achieving anything there. There is little or no reaction from the troops, pure apathy. Those that have reacted demonstrated either not to have a clue as to what I was talking about, or seemed to be content with the status quo.....I give up.
Hey Steve, I don't often laugh out loud at a post, but your Tuna Tower 42 has got to go in the hall of fame of posts to this forum.
I lurk on the C36 forum, and they are really good folks too, just like the ones here.
And yes, even though I have never met any of you face to face, I consider you my friends. We all work together, help each other out, play nice, share our toys, KUMBAYA
And another thing steve, good luck next week down there in Fort Myers.
OK everybody, now that we are broad side, load the catapults with rotted watermelons. Fire the potato guns too. You know what I hate. I see a lot of bigger sailboats here in Fla. But rarely do they have any canvas up. I think they are all just a bunch of wussies. They come to Florida in the winter like a bunch of wussies. But they don't know their @$$ from a hole in the ground. They won't stick around for the storm. They are fair weather friends. Thanks so much C-25/250 forum for being here. BTW, I've started classes for my USCG OUPV captain's license. Can I talk about that here?
"There is a principle which is a bar against information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance- that principle is contempt prior to investigation." HERBERT SPENCER
That captain's license sounds like a lot of work. Best of luck. It is clearly sailing related and might be an inspiration to others, so IMHO it is appropriate to post info about it here! As for the big boat jockeys: Sailboats are designed to be SAILED. Big boat drivers that don't get away from the pier are just living in overpriced floating houses. ARRRRRR!

No they dont, so I had to ground myself when it was diagnosed.....but I now have a clean bill of health and can go back to work. Admiral says I need to as well.... Did get some nice "vacation" out of it though.....
Ben - I am starting my USCG Captains license class Oct 11. I am going for the 100 Ton with towing and sailing endorsements. Hopefully I'll get at least the 25T near coastal. There's little reason to test for the OUPV, the 100T test is the same.
Little fine print on the application form (paraphrased)
This is a merchant marine license. In times of national emergency you can be called into service.
Its a ton of work. The class and the test is the easy part after you get through all the USCG paperwork.
You are too cool for the snob set. I'm glad you still hang out here with us. I don't know the health story but I'm glad you're okay.
Maybe we could do a flotilla one day to a 42 gathering with you as the lead battleship and the 25's as the fleet.
Those 42 people should be nicer to the 22, 25/250 and 27 gang.
If these boats were not so succsessful the bigger ones might never have been built.
Lets all join the 42 forum. IMHO: the 42 is just a big 25 right. As I recall from a photo, they all share the same space, gelcoat, 5200, heads and workers as they are built.
I like our happy family.
Would anyone like to trade a c-25 for a piano . I am still boatless but living happily and sailing vicariously through this forum.
Did I ever mention this. My wife is being transfered to Florida. Great timing! We'll be moving in the next 60 days...we think. It's a long and weird tale. We were suposed to be there at the end of July.

My wife still hasn't noticed the Quicksilver box in the garage.
