Lady Kay (III) came with a now obsolete Garmin C-180 chart plotter. It uses G-charts which are very expensive and after November will no longer be supported. It is to be replaced by something more up to date, but I was going to mount it below as a backup, and to feed position data to the VHF. But I digress......
When shorepower is plugged in, there is a handy clock on the microwave. To set it you push "clock" the time and "start". To cook something you push "time" the time and "start".
Did I mention that we "hide" the gps in the microwave when we leave the boat?
How long did you cook the GPS? I assume it does not work anymore? I do think that takes blunder prize this month. Sounds like the kind of thing I would do.

We only "hide" paper towels in our microwave on the boat and so far (knock on wood), we haven't lost a roll.

After about thirty seconds I noticed that the cabin was fillling with smoke......the reason I was pluigged in to shorepower was to test the AC portion of the water heater I had just installed. So, this was the first place I looked for the source of said smoke. By the time I figured out what the hell was going on we were approaching 45 seconds to a minute.
No, it does not work anymore.....

Yeah, but I know you all will get a good laugh out of it, so I feel obliged to share....
As I tell all my flying compatriots when we do something dumb, but no real harm..."If that's the worse we thing do in an airplane, we are in good shape." Same applies here.
I left my GPS laying out in the sun and all of a sudden it just melted and stopped working. You should have better quality control. Please send me a new one.
