Reading the list of materials of the gin pole needs to include the boom. Have the tall rig and with a boom attached to the mast base with a 3/8 inch bolt used as a pin, the bolt is attached to the base of the mast with a nut on each side and the head of the bolt is cut off and rounded to fit into a 3/8 inch hole drilled into the outboard end. This secures the boom at the mast and a 2 inch ring attaches the bridle, the forestay and the main sheet with blocks. The main sheet block is then attached to the base of the forestay and the lift can start. I do use a mast crutch at the stern to raise the mast as high as I can reach which helps with the first part of the lift. Idea was taken from Royce and has worked for the 79 Cat25 for all these years, hope this can halp you too.
