I put window tint on my classic 25 windows last month. It made a huge difference in the interior temperature. Since it is an interior job it might be something others would like to do this fall. The only advise is that it is a two person job and you should practice on a couple of small panes around your house before you do it in the boat. My last window was super! I bought the film at Lowes.

Frank,
Window tint is a nice upgrade. I had tinted glass made when I redid my portlights a few years back. You sure can see clearly into the cabin at night though!

Nice pics by the way! Nice winds too!

Hi,
We have a condensation problem where we have our boat now, San Francisco Bay. Does this film peel up. Have you even had the problem. We have a place here called TAP Plastic that has a similar item we were considering. It definately makes the older boats look newer.

Tis the season for condensation at our lake. Every morning the dew is heavy on the boats and everything around the water. My cockpit cushions are soaked in the mornings. I use the West Marine dehumidifier that Suzie told me about last year. My tint has not reacted to the humidity at all. I have not really noticed a dramatic change in the outside appearance of the boat but inside is great. I have no curtains, I like the inside to feel as open as possible, but privacy is not a problem at our lake.

Sort of related:

I have to tackle my leaky windows. Due to an unexpected 2 month visit to Florida, I had to do a temp repair with the handy man's secret weapon: duct tape. Did splurge on the white tape though :)

Has anyone done the smoked lexan/plexiglass window upgrade with the CD kit? I sure like the looks of the older, metal frames, but I'm tired of trying to deal with the drips.

I tinted my windows at the beginning of the year. With the heat and sunshine here in Texas, it has made a tremendous difference. I got my tint from a car tinting store. I bought the darkest that they sold. This tint is darker than what I found at Lowes or Home Depot.
