I posted the weather data for the last five years for Cheney, it has been added to the nationals sticky. I especially like the 4th and 5th of '04. Yes, Kansans carry 1 irons.
I think when people are considering traveling a fair distance to a race the more information they have the better. I hope this information helps entice you to come. Odds are it will be good sailing!

Frank, I trust you are having an astrological evaluation, a Tarot reading and a Feng Shue analysis done?

How about these stats as well before we make the trip next summer.

Average size wave in the month of July?
Amount of bikini clad women per square nautical mile?
Restaraunt or bar with the coldest beer on tap?
Best chicken wings?
and finally.................
Who serves the biggest most juciest steaks in the area and how far of a drive is it to the place from the yacht club?

Thank you and have a great day!

This one is easy, Kansas beef on the stern rail magma! Or for the pinko commy lovers out there we have two "Ted's" steak houses. And of course the local mafia hangout and international business dinner favorite, "Scotch and Sirloin" where the waitress' still understand the Chicago Playboy Club way of doing things.

You still have not said whether or not you are coming. With your ability to hop around for free you really should at least make an appearance. The airport is minutes away from the lake. Remember the only thing better than Kansas beef is Kansas tofu!

It's on my calendar. If the stars line up right I'll make it. If there's something else going on that month I have to bid days off for I won't.

You have a definite maybe.

Well, I didn't have a choice -- I was at a conference in KC (actually, Overland Park/Leawood) with a group, and we flew into KCI. I was impressed with the Kansas countryside, however -- beautiful out there!

Used to fly DC-9's into ICT, long time ago...remember sliding downhill on a taxiway that was all iced over, reverse thrust was the only way to stop, we threw in the towel and got towed back to the gate. Also remember some hellatious crosswinds.....40 or so knots....and then there was the Holiday Inn. Karaoke night, entry requirements for that event were to be 55+ and blitzed, snookered, blotto'd. (We got in at 11.30 pm) and I locked myself in my room, afraid of the hairy ladies that were eyeing us in the lobby....

Yeah, ICT 't is a garden spot all right.... Just kidding Frank, I'm sure it will be a wonderful event.....

Now Now Now, we all know there are no hills in Wichita. We are however, the venue for the Plains, Trains, and Automobiles movie where being stranded in Wichita justified a deathmarch to get out. Oh and yes, Karaoke will play a big role in the nationals. I expect a lot of Jimmy Buffett impersonations. You can do Elton John's Rocket Man.
