Tell us a little about the boat - It's always fun to share in someone's boat shopping stories, even if it's vicariously.

I found this C25 via Yachtworld.com
Its a 1981 SR/SK with a recent honda 9.9, 3 sails, porta-potti and a trailer - and that's about it. It looks very clean, the broker tells me this boat has never been in salt. The owner towed it to Bellingham to sell it via the broker. (performance yachts)
I've looked at every for sale C25 on the planet, and a lot of C250s.
I also like the 85 C25 TR/FK that Doug has posted on the Swap forum - but as I intend to trailer a fair amount, I'm concerned about the height of the FK on the trailer and launching/retrieving issues. Doug's boat looks very good - he's kept it in true Bristol condition.
The appeal of the Bellingham C25 is price, location and condition... and to a degree - my understanding that traileringlaunching
etrieving is the right trade-off for the amount of sailability between these two boats. The price translates to a starter boat. I've never sailed on a Catalina let alone a C25 - it was this forum that sold me.
This sounds like another topic, as I reread the above. Any feedback is sincerely appreciated. And just remember, it was you guys that decided that I am looking for a C25 and not a Hunter.

Can't help you with finding a surveyor, but another benefit/possibility to think about with the swing keel is they can be converted to a wing keel. If I'd known that when I was looking, I'd have looked more closely at the swing keel Cats.

I ended up with a fixed keel on a trailer. I've never ramp launched it though. Don't like the idea of dipping a painted trailer into the salt.

Good luck with your decision and glad everyone steered you away from the Hunters - ewww, makes me shudder at the thought.

Can't help you with a surveyor in your part of the country, but can tell you in Dallas this spring I paid $14 a foot for my survey.
