I posed a question about a week ago regarding a layer of rust on my standing rigging (also on my railing) Any how a good friend tells me there is a product by Wiechart I believe. This is essentially a cream that treats the stainless steel against this rust.
BriteBoy also does a real good job of taking rust off the railings/stanchions etc. Hull cleaning products with Oxacalic acid cleans rust off the hull (don't leave it on too long, wash it off good).
Its hard to say without seeing your rigging if its too rusty. A little rust here and there is normal on older wire. Even 1 year old in salt water will begin to show patches of rust. What you don'twant to see are any broken wires near the ends.
