While my son and I were pulling FellowShip a friend came by to help. That allowed me to shoot a few pictures and a short video. This is of course the crane that we will use next summer for the nationals. It is sad to pull the boat but man, I do love having it here at the house to mess with.Pulling movie

Apple flashes a Quicktime upgrade pop-up on my screen, and then locks up Internet Explorer without even letting me answer. Any other "real computer" users get the same thing?

Dave,

As a MAC user I don't share your problem. You ought to be able to download Quicktime for your PC and then view the movie. I don't have an explanation as to why IE is locking up. Maybe a conspiracy by the "Evil Empire"?

The movie is pretty neat, but I was holding my breath the whole time. Good thing it's not very long.

Ya, I have Quicktime installed... I got it to work by starting Quicktime before accessing the movie. I feel better watching Passage get lifed out by a Travelift rated for something like 15 tons. (The marina has a 160 Ton lift, too, but that's overkill.)

Dave,

Try a right click, save as and watch the movie in QT independantly. I don't use IE and haven't for so long that I can't address that specific browser.

Frank,

Sailed my butt off again this weekend in shorts and no shirt, and expect a few more before Christmas. Do you have to pull because of the shallow depth at Cheney?

No, our water is great. This is the time of year when 100 miles is like a month of season time. Our weather is changing.
This was an awesome weekend, it made pulling the boat and unloading stuff here at the house very pleasant. A lot of people will pull after Thanksgiving. Next year I may leave the stick up and park it in the storage yard. If I do that I will pull later because even if the weather has turned crummy it is still fairly quick to pull it and park it.

Frank,

What a wonderful website! I will have to haul my MCScow or Nacra to Lake Cheney this spring. (Don't have a trailer for the 25 FKSR). Cheney looks like a great lake. I have several friends that have competed in various centerboard regattas at Cheney and they all talk about the big wind that you usually have. I live in Sand Springs, Ok. and have noticed a lot of growth in Wichita over the past 20 years.

If you ever get to the Tulsa area, look us up at Windycrest.

Terry

Terry,

Last year I could say the same thing - I don't have a trailer, nor a vehicle to tow it behind. But I wanted to be able to take osmepneo to the National Championships, so I bout a trailer (I owe Frank some pictures) and a Suburban to tow the boat and trailer. So my solution would be to get a trailer! See ya' at Nationals on Lake Cheney next July.

Thank you Terry,
Windycrest is one of the most admired and respected clubs in the CSSA region. We used to have a couple scows but they and the Fireballs that the other insane people sailed are all gone now. We have a lot of Nacras, some Prindles and of course a ton of Hobies. The beach and camp area for cats is really nice. Come on up in early June and we will get you motivated to bring the 25 in July. I would expect there to be a trailer at Windycrest that you could borrow.
