The admiral finally approved the new tiller pilot for xmas. I ordered it Tues morning and it was sitting on the doorstep Wed afternoon! It was refreshing to see such fast shipping offered for free. They get my vote for the fastest delivery ever.
Hi everyone, I've been reading the forum for awhile now just about every night. Great wealth of knowlegeable info from all! I'm getting ready to order a tiller pilot also, since my CFS (chief financial Santa),aka the Admiral says go for it. I would like any opinions, warnings, or pros & cons on the Simrad TP10 & Raymarine ST1000 units. Thanks much! will repost as new topic
I just had my new tp-10 pilot out today. It is quiet and does the job but seems to constantly hunt for the right heading. The one thing that concerns me is when it makes an imput to the tiller, it always takes a little of the imput back out. It almost appears too sensitive.
I've only had my TP-10 for a few months now, but like it a lot. Seems to do the job just fine. The main point between choosing for me was, if I wanted to hook it up to my GPS. I decided against that, since most of the reviews I read said the GPS hookup was nice but hardly anyone used it. So I chose to go with the basic TP-10.
