Successfully sailed my 30 into it's slip once...at 3am after a precautionary engine shutdown earlier in the day in the middle of Lake Erie....(Roll up the jib, let go the vang, sail it like a dinghy.)
I have yet to see a photo of a boat that doesn't have some sort of beauty, even a motor boat. But the J 24 to my eye is exceptional. Almost as nice as a Catalina.

My slip is a good way down a cove...no way you can get in and out without a motor. If the wind is just right, you may get out (or in), but once out (or in), if the wind stays the same, you can't go the other way.
