Catalina Direct tech is closed today and I searched the archives but didn't find the answer to this:

What color is the cabintop paint?

I have a worn area where it appears the jib sheet has rubbed away the paint on the cabintop curve near the v-berth hatch - it's a dull grey color now. I would like to repaint/touch-up this area and wondered if there is a Catalina specific color or is there a recommended type and color of paint to get?

Thanks,

Steve

Steve - I responded in the other thread - but gel coat matching isn't easy. The hardest part is the dry color doesn't match the wet color.

Steve,

The C-25 deck color isn't really white white. It's more of a slightly eggshell off white. I suggest you ask Catalina Yachts to sell you a small quantity of matching gelcoat. I would bet that their color will be a closer match than any of your first 50 attempts at mixing the right shade at home.

No problem Dave. It's the thought that counts. Not unlike my posting some C25 specific comments and having it pointed out to me that I had posted them in the C250 forum. Besides, cabin top and cabinet top almost look the same.
