Great film; it should be in every sailors library. I drag my copy out on snowy, icy gray days and watch it while drinking rum (Cruzan) or mango margaritas.

Interesting kayak video. If I was the person in that kayak, I'd a probably had a heart attack. That is if I didn't drown from not knowing how to do an eskimo roll.

Captain Ron. Cracks me up every time I watch it.

"Pirates." "What pirates?!" "The pirates of the Caribbean." "Been to Disneyland one too many times, Captain Ron?"

'dangit Jody, ya ruined it for me ...

But, in retrospect, the kayaks do look a little funny on the water.

This fraud was probably Lightnup's doing.

Hey now! If the whale in question had landed on a C25, I could see where suspicion might be cast my way but I don't know nuthin 'bout no kayaks. I wonder if our "supposed" landing on the moon is on Snopes?

The idea of a whale breaching onto a boat is not too far fetched. It happened last year to a fisherman here off the coast near Morro Bay. His boat was good sized about 24' I think with a cuddy cabin. The boat was unsinkable so it was recovered and most of the crew survived but the captain was killed in the impact. It was a California Gray Whale. Pretty unusual.
