My boat came with an '83 Evenrude XXL (25" shaft) motor attached. It runs, but not smoothly. I'd like to sell it for $300. I'm in the Virginia suburbs of Washington DC.

With the trucking companies all adding surcharges to cover the huge increases in the price of diesel fuel, it's likely that shipping will cost more than the actual purchase price of the motor. When I bought my Yamaha T8 last year, the shipping charge was $160 for 600 miles. You are talking about shipping almost 2000 miles, so I would guess shipping will be at least $300, plus the cost of building a pretty stout crate for it.
