She is back across the equator and back to 500 K / day. Hard to believe they could beat Fossets time by so much ( 9 days). With luck they will do the circunavigation in less than 50 days. www.maxicatamranorange.com Dave

Fosset had a pretty good week himself. It was fun to have him pick Salina Ks as the best place to takeoff and land.

Add an "a" between the m & r in the address above and it's awesome...

Sorry I can't spell better. Thanks Jeff!
I'm not all that impressed with Mr Fosset's latest. I think this could have been done about as well( maybe better, the computor would not have dumped 3 to 400 gallons of fuel), by an unmanned airplane. Since the thing was obviously on autopiiot most of the flight, whats the big deal. I think the mechanics that prepped the plane had a lot more to do with the success or failure than Mr Fosset did.
The balloon was good, this is a yawn. Dave

Might just as well have been a radio controlled model plane. The ground crew wouldn't have had to worry about losing a multi-millionaire...sorry, that sounded kinda negative...
Guys, I have to admit my hero is a chick....Ellen. The shore crew had alot to do with her success, but OH MY GOD ! ! ! That girl can sail. She was able to handle sleep deprivation, bad food, wonderful scenery, and sail the #$%^ out of an incredible machine to a record achieved by only one other person...EVER!!

I agree to both without any hesitation. Still Orange is an impressive effort too. Dave
