Thanks Don. Sounds like 10'-7" might work. I actually measured from end of fitting on pole to end of fitting at other end. Operating length would be a little shorter. I think I will make an offer.
I see from the diagram of C-25 sails that 'J' is 10'-6", but where is that measured from and to?

Bill,
The "J" dimension is the base of the fore triangle measured horizontally from the fore stay at the deck to the mast.
i think the catalina rules for racing say anything shorter tha 10'-71/2". dave holtgrave 5722 sk/tr hard and dry near carlyle lake in southern illinois
If you are racing Catalina 25 sanctioned races the spinnaker pole length is 10 feet 6 inches. If you are racing PHRF it is probably the same, however you can probably take a 3 second per mile penalty with a bigger pole. If you are just out having a good time you can sail with whatever you want.
Depending on the pole type, you might be able to disconnect the fitting, cut the pole off and re-rivet it back on.
as a side note the measurement is end fitting to end fitting
