Hey all! So sorry I haven't checked back in a while. I've been racing in the beautiful weather that finally made its way to NY.
I have installed my new windows. No leaks and they look great. I just have to figure out the best way to trim out or cover the screws/nuts inside. I promise I will take pictures when I venture down next, probably tomorrow.
I have enough glass left to make one more set. I will probably wait until the end of the season to buy more glass because I suspect this is not a project anyone will want to start mid-season.
You have to go to a special place typically. HomeDepot and such have plexi and lexan but only clear, not smoked. You will have to do some research to find a place in your area. You'll also need some special tools to get a finished look.
I do have enough to make one more set and will make them for $350 plus shipping.

Actually, my boat won't make it in this year. I have re-shaped the bow to accomodate a new bow-stem/roller fitting, replace standing rigging, also removed the rubrails (found an old "wound" underneath, left there by a previous owner), will re-do the bottom and swing keel, remove and re-seal the windows (easier to put in a set of yours, waiting on those pictures) and will do a few interior upgrades (re-wire, remove the original electrical panel - install a new one in a different location and - well, the list is getting long already.
I'd love to see how your lexan windows would fit a '78 Cat 25. Thanks.
You've got your work cut out for you Mark. Sounds a lot like what I did last summer. But nothing was more rewarding than putting in a totally upgraded boat this season.
I will be down to the boat and will take pics. I just have to figure out how to trim the inside. I am actually just thinking about rubber nut caps. I found a company that will make them custom, that way I can get ones colored to match the interior walls. I just need to test and price them.

Installing the new bimini Sunday....finally, after eight inches of rain this week we should have a somewhat rain-free day. The "decklight" over the V-berth has begun leaking again. #(&(%(#!*@ and the companionway hatchboards allow some water to drip in on the steps, but I'm pleased to report that the windows don't leak.
Trim came with the package. I suspect he'd sell them seperately. We're looking for a C-30 right now, and I suspect I'll have to replace windows eventually. I'll be looking into making the windows and ordering the trim kits.
