The jam cleat is for the topping lift, which he obviously no longer has a need for.
My question is, How high does the Garhauer lift the end of the boom fully relaxed? I like to lift my boom up and out of the way when in a slip or mooring. If you could take a guess at the angle above horizontal that would be fine. Thanks.
The pictures shown are of a C25 mast and boom attachment.
The boom end can be raised the length of the slide bar (about 4 to 6 inches, depending on where it was mounted on the boom. If that isn't high enough, you can easily detach the boom from the vang and raise it higher.
Since raising the boom end is not an issue with me and quick, easy detachment is, I shortened the mast and boom slides as much as possible.
It will be interesting to me to see what they come up with for the mast attachment on my Capri 25 as the mast is different. The boom looks the same though.
I guess what I don't get is why the track on the mast? I put on a boom kicker last year and don't like it . It attached to the mast with a slide that went in the sail track. this looks as if I will have to bolt a track to the mast. i think I need to call garhauer and ask.
