I'd like to replace the standing rigging on my 1980 Catalina 25 tall rig. Is there any salvage material available at discount as a result of the storms in Fla last fall?

Tom,

First order of business...Welcome to the forum!

Now back to your inquiry...I like to stretch a boat buck as much as the next guy (probably more ), but replacing questionable standing rigging with even more questionable standing rigging is inviting trouble.

If replacing all of the rigging at one time takes too big a chunk from the annual boat budget, you might consider replacing them in pairs (two this season, two the next,...etc).

Just a thought.

Good luck.

Welcome to the forum.
When I first bought my boat I was a little tapped out on cash (imagine that) so I bought a new forestay and backstay only from Catalina direct. Then next season I bought the other 6 stays from them. They are happy to sell you just what you need.

Just think, if you had a Hunter you would only have to replace 3 stays, and then maybe your whole rig someday Sorry, I know that was a cheap shot on Hunter.
