I ran my halyards back to the cockpit.. each had a working length (tail end to pre-spliced eye and shackle) of 65'. Material was 5/16" Sta-SetX line. On a standard rig, 65' turned out to be a perfect length.
Note: At the time, Sailnet was selling pre-fabricated halyards of that length for a reasonable price... haven't checked to see if they still are.
