Outboards are a hot topic on this site. In fact, we've beaten it to death! Do a search using the link at the upper right hand of the page. You'll get more more information than you care to read!

There are many differences in outboards, we all tend to like one of three; Honda, Yamaha, and Nissan/Tohatsu. That is not to say that some people are not happy with other brands, but these are the ones with the best shaft length and A Catalina 25 really needs an XLS 25" shaft. One day I will buy one and at this point I would choose the 9.8 Nissan XLS electric start. The primary reason for me is that the weight is much less than the competition. That configuration is less than 90 pounds. There are several places online to buy, this seems a good place.

I was very pleased with onlineoutboards that Frank recommended. Had the new ob in a matter of a couple days.Of course it was delivered during a snow storm last winter, but what the heck!

So let me understand this...new bottom, new motor, new tow vehicle, new trailer; cancelled nationals trip. Remember the little train that could.
