Has anyone replaced the factory installed mattress in the aft berth with a firmer one with more support? If so, what did you use and where did you buy it?

We could not find a replacement so we had a 'closed cell' pad made to go under it. It is very firm and resists any moisture damage. That type foam had to be laminated in order to get the 1.5 inch thickness we wanted, but it certainly made a big differen

About how much did your closed cell pad cost? Sounds like a good solution to the hard sleeping surface and possible moisture damage to cushions.

It was about $ 350.00, but we were in a rush and had to pay extra for a special order. We had enough made for the aft berth, the cabin sole, and the forward area. I just can't help but think you can get it for a lot less if you shop around.

To add comfort to our stern sleeping quarters, my wife bought a king size, egg crate, looking cushion that is placed on the existing cushion and then a sheet is placed over it. I beleive she bought the cushion through some mail order catalog because the
