I looked at the eBay photos, and I don't see anything like a sail drive ... for that matter, I didn't see anything that looks like it is covering up an inboard diesel either (but I've never seen a C-25 with a sail drive or an inboard, so I really don't know what to look for).
Anyway, something about this boat doesn't pass the smell test. Hull #478 is listed in our "Owners' Directory" ... that boat is a TR/SK, and it is located in Florida. The eBay boat is in California, and it doesn't appear to be a swing keel. It doesn't look like a TR either, but I can't really tell from the photos ... 'kinda' looks like a SR to me, but it's hard to tell.
So, either the eBay listing is wrong, the entry in our Owners' Directory is wrong, or some of both ... hmmmmmmm
We have a diesel, and it (universal 12 plus transmission) takes up the whole space under the cockpit floor. I.e. the quarterberth is a single. On this boat the quarterberth goes under te cockpit floor. Plus, never heard of a 9.9HP diesel.
There is/was a saildrive style inboard out there with a Honda B-100 10HP 2-cyl 4-stroke powerhead on a (European? shortened Honda O.B.?) saildrive style leg, although I think it was marketed under some other brand name. It's just barely possible for me to imagine one of those hidden under the lumpy looking port half the "unique double aft quarter berth" matress in one of the photos. (Or maybe the power head wasn't installed when that photo was taken...)
There does appear to be an inboard exhaust thru-hull complete with exhaust stains in one of the photos.
I've also seen a C-25 with a 2-stroke or flathead 4-stroke gas engine with two vertical cylinders and straight inboard transmission and prop shaft. It wasn't clear to me whether it was a factory or custom installation.

Hi Leon,
I noticed that "lumpy looking" port half, too. This boat is an L-dinette ... there is an extra cushion that goes on top of the table when you lower it to make a sleeping berth ... it looks to me like that lumpy part is the extra cushion stored there.
I wonder what's under that cushion, and I sure would like to see this engine setup. Like you Leon, I just don't see anything that looks like an engine in there.
Don't know about the motor but that wheel is the same Merriman set up my boat came with. The push pull cable was pretty hard to use. Bought Arlyn's open cable system and Edson parts for rudder and now it works great. Took me a lot of work to fill the hole from that cable.
The "inboard" engine is probably a gas engine saildrive, not a diesel, and is probably an aftermarket (non-OEM) installation. The Catalina 25's I have seen with factory inboards have the entire center section of the quarterberth partitioned off; this boat on EBay still has at least part of the center of the quarterberth still open. In fact, I can't picture how there could even be any kind of inboard engine under there, although the cushion is hiding the view of whatever is in the aft area behind it. Note that the EBay ad says the engine in not running- this should send up a big red flag to any prospective buyer. Replacing a non-functional inboard will cost a lot of money even for a gas unit. A diesel inboard runs at least $7000. I have noticed on other EBay ads for sailboats that the sellers often seem to not really know much about the boat, and the ads are usually lacking quite a few of the important details, like which of the three possible keels the boat is, or whether it's a standard or tall rig. I think the hull number listed in the ad may be wrong, too; my database shows that #478 is supposed to be in Leesburg, Florida, yet how did it get to southern California if, as the ad says, the boat does not come with a trailer? And I am almost certain the EBay boat is a Standard rig, not a Tall; the one-foot-lower placement of the boom on the TR's is pretty easy to spot in a photo from the side or rear and this boat looks to me like the boom is at the Standard Rig height.
Reading the sellers' answers to questions: The engine is a Mercury 9.9 gas saildrive, not a diesel. Being a Mercury, I assume it's a 2-stroke. The keel is not a swing, it's fixed, but the seller is not sure if it's a fin or wing. (How could he not know?!?) If it is a wing, it must be a swing-to-wing conversion.
