The furler line is cutting throught the black plastic fittings that bring the line back to the cockpit. I believe there was a recent discussion about this but I can't find it. What are the solutions to this problem?

My boat came with fairleads with ss inserts such as the one below in the the upper left.

You may want to replace yours with a similar item.

I've also got the ones with the SS inserts. No issues so far.

Charlie, what is the source of your photo? I'd like to buy the ones with the stainless steel inserts.

Thanks.

Yes, the photo is from West Marine, I think they are about 4 1/2 dollars. Might find them cheaper elsewhere.

You can find the source for any photo by right clicking on the photo then left clicking on properties. Just FYI.

I had mentioned this problem in earlier post. I picked a couple SS inserted fairleads from WM for around $5 apiece. Be sure to measure bolt center to center, mine were 1.00". this is so you can use existing holes in cabin roof. These screws are threaded into cabin top and do not go through with bolts on underneath. Use some sort of adhesive/sealant when installing so water will not seep into core and cause future problems. The replacement fairleads are 1/8-1/4" taller, but that is not a concern. It is an easy replacement job since I did it and it would have to be easy for me as I am not what you a craftsman by any stretch.

Thanks for the details. I also learned something about picture properties.
