My bow and stern running lights were working fine but when trying to track down an anchor light problem tonight, I pulled all the fuses and then reinserted them and now the bow running lights work but the stern light doesn't, even though they operate on the same fuse. (The good news is that the masthead anchor light works now....it was a loose deck connector.) Removing the fuse wouldn't affect the bulb, would it?

Steve,
You will likely find the problem behind the cover in the lazerete. I had a host of factory errors including a single spade connector that provided all the neg juice. The biggie for me was the on-off switch. It was a standard switch that would get hot with everything powered up!

Get a meter and chech the wires in the dumpster. I am going to bet that your problem lies there as 2 areas quit at the same time.

Tom.

I had intermittent problems with my lights and found a bad solder connection on the back of the breaker panel. Breaker checked fine and wires tested fine but still didn't work. Found it when I traced it out with a meter and touched the lead to the back of the panel the cabin lights came on. (I had no cabin lights) Simply re-did the solder connection and it's been fine since.

Looking at it you couldn't see it. It all depended on where I put the test lead. It was mis-leading. (If you'll parden the pun)

Thanks - project for one of these upcoming weekends. Just wish I was of smaller stature for trying to climb in that locker. If you never hear from me again, tell someone to look for me in there first.

Steve, take out the bulkhead between the quarter and the sail locker. 3 minutes to remove and a world of difference. Sit on a throwable cushion or two to level out your butt and the quarter floor. You will want to take your quarter cushions out too, you will want the slide effect of the bare gelcoat.

Thanks Frank for the great idea. That will make things much more accessible and they won't have to make a Lifetime Movie of the Week out of my rescue like they did for "Baby Jessica."
