I have been watching several threads on window refits and I have been only able to breeze through. This being the week of my spring musical. Now done (Cinderella was very good and I am so proud of my students) I am ready to work on the boat. I ordered the window refit kit from CD, and though I was promised instructions I did not get them. do we use the sealant on the vinyl channel? Do we glue the ends of the channel together? and last, my aluminum frames are a bit tired looking. I would like to re-finish them with petit 3175 white. does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Right now we are having a big snowstorm and I am thinking of getting out my skis. We have about 2 inches on the ground and my lilacs are begining to droop. I hope we don't loose power.

Global warming? that may be the new oxymoron.

We have a copy of the directions on the Yahoo Capri 25 group, I'd be more than happy to email them to you if you wish. I do not believe the email through the forum will allow me to email you a file, so if you want it, send me an email through the forum with the address I should send the directions to.

>I would like to re-finish them with petit 3175 white. does anyone have any thoughts on that?

Painting of anodized aluminum usually reqires special preparation, primer and paint. Regular paints usually don't stick very well and will flake off after a bit... making a big mess.

The clear sealant provided in the kit goes in the channel. I believe it's 'Lifeseal Clear'.

I recommend using 3M 101, Lifeseal, or other marine caulking compound to go between the frames and cabin sides. Use plenty so you get a full seal, you only want to do this once for the next 25 years or so.
