I stopped to look at a sailboat with wheel steering and a transom mounted rudder just out of curiosity. Turned out to be a Southcoast 26 which I had forgotten were ever made but the wheel steering mechanism was interesting (but not rocket science). I took some digital photos of the set up which was pretty cleaver and would be willing to send them to someone if they wanted to post them on this website for me if fellow 25 owners were interested.

I've got wheel steering on my boat, so I'd like to see the setup. I have Arlyn's wheel steering open cable kit, but I haven't installed it yet ... maybe the photos will help me determine the best way to do it.

I think the rudder head is more interesting that the wheel configuration. It looks like a very high aspect rudder and it looks like it would be east to lift in shoal waters. It certainly is ugly as ...
