our 99 C250 WK came with the pleated fabric shades. after 5 seasons they were getting pretty dirty.
i tried to find out from catatlina who manufactured the shades so i could contact them to find out how to clean them. (with no luck). i even thought of buying new ones, but the cost would have been hundreds of dollars. so i went on the internet to look up cleaning fabric shades. most of them said to use woolite foam upholstery cleaner and wipe in the directions of the pleats.
well, there are 7 shades that would have to be cleaned and it seemed like to much work. so, i figured they were ruined anyway and i couldnt hurt them. i decided to mix up some oxyclean and hot water in the kitchen sink. TWO DIPS INTO THE OXYCLEAN AND THEY WERE LIKE BRAND NEW. (i even used the dollar store brand of oxyclean) i rinsed them in cool water and blotted them semi-dry, refolded them and let them dry overnight. the result was so good that i thought i would pass this along for anyone who is looking to clean them.

Can we hold this for a future tech tip? Splash in 8 days if the lake don't rise too much more.
