after making a front hatch umbrella, i just made a companion way screen. i went to the fabric store and bought fabric screen material. it is so fine that nothing is going to get through this. i first made a pocket to fit over the chrome u bracket of the pop top with velcro. then i made another pocket to accept a 1 inch dowell for weight at the bottom. it fits great and will let you know if it keeps the bugs out. final cost was $10.00!
update on the companion way screen. we just spent the first weekend on the boat. it was rainy and cold, but i tried the screen door to see if it fit. i could not believe how nice it looks. it actually looks like it is part of the pop top. for $10.00 nothing is going to get through this thing, the screening material is so fine, yet you can see right through it and it rolls up and stores away anywhere. you have got to make one of these.
