I had my first cruise of the year yesterday, to skake off the rust from the winter. It was quite easy going, but I knew it was going to be like that before I set out. Wind speeds were in the vicinity of 5 mph, but with yesterday really being the first available day to take the old girl out, I felt I had to make a go of it. The boat had been in the water for almost a month, but since then I had moved from my condo into a house, and that took so much of our time.
Anyway, the weather was beautiful, although wind speeds could have been a little faster, but I was able to top out at 3 knots, with normal speeds around 2 knots. The wife wouldn't even come with me because of the lack of wind, so I was soloing. No big deal though, I still had fun.
way to go Ben!! we still need to plan that columbus area C25/250 breakfast. Let me know when and I'll plan a West Marine run. I want to modify my topping lift and need to nico press a new loop.
I'm sure with all the rain we have had, the reservoir must be full.
Hi John, the Reservoir is nice and full. With all the precipitation we've had since the fall the reservoir never even got close to its typical winter low-water level.
How about we consider this weekend for a sail? We're having our annual May Cup Regatta, which I am not planning on participating in. But I like to be out on the water watching the race.
