Please don't laugh at yet another neubie question!!!

First - I slip my boat in salt water year round in Southern California, roll up the jib and cover the main with canvas.

I want to wash my sails - I have read the TECH Tips section on how to do this, and I think I can easily clean the main, since it is reachable on the boom.

Now here is the dumb question - How do I reach the upper section of the jib? Do I take the jib down? How do I do that? Then how would I put it back up? (I have a SnapFurl furler.)

You should be able to lower the halyard and the main will fall directly to the deck.

there should be a light line for pulling the jib up and down. Your jib has a luff that is hoisted up the furler in a fine slot. Find this light line and free it, then pull the sail down. Use the line to pull the clean jib back up.

You can buy other sails to use with your furler, for example a 110, 135 or 155.
