I would like to replace the original holding tank in my '89 SR/WK with a slightly bigger tank. I rebuilt the head this winter because the joker valve was bad. Trying to eliminate odors in the boat I thought this was a good time to replace all hoses. Then as most bathroom projects go (they grow!) I thought I might as well replace the tank, not knowing if odor was actually permeating through the plastic tank. The original tank is a Ronco B-105 rated at 12gal. I'd like to go up to about 15 gal. Any recommendations on a particular tank that would increase the capacity and still fit in the same space?

we replaced our tank a while ago but I can't remember what size we put in. We bought a Todd, which is one of the most prolific on the market. I would get the dimensions of the area and go to Sailnet or Boat Us and find the largest that will fit.
Hi Brian, if I install a different tank on my C25, I think I would install a V shaped tank in the V berth as far aft as possible. I'd put a shelf over it to help with the storage. Have you got the Dinette or Traditional interior? I have a web page that shows how I re-installed my original 14 gal tank.I don't know if I did it right or not, but it's in there and it aint going anywhere. Would you like to increase your holding tank capacity to 16gal and gain a lot of usable storage at the same time? When I installed a holding tank in my 1979 C-25 dinette, I mounted a sort of inverted pyramid shaped one all the way forward under the V-berth. <center> </center> Here's a [link] to a thread on a related topic.
That is a great installation, and a really savvy way to use the space under the vee-berth, which is not very useful for storage on a C25 because of the condensation problems. Where did you get the tank? Did you run the pump-out hose all the way back to the deck plate and Y it into the bilge pump outlet?

I'm glad you like it. I'm rather pleased with it myself. As I mentioned in a previous message, the tank is a Raritan model 16B373. The pumpout leg of the outlet hose goes to a deck plate at the fwd port corner of the head compartment. The offshore discharge route is from the 1-1/2" T-fitting, through a waste-rated (Henderson?) diaphram pump, and out through a bronze and SS seacock and bronze thru-hull. There is no Y-valve.
