Another decision the officers made last night (5/31) was to discontinue recognizing Catalina 250 (only) fleets. Currently there are no 250 fleets functioning, and it is the boards opinion that local fleets should include both 25's and 250's. This is the case for most of our fleets, and is what I have encouraged others to do with their fleets. In fact new fleet 30, The Great Sacandaga Lake Fleet, is organized to be aCatalina 25 Built fleet and seeks members from the lake that sail 25 foot boats built by Catalina - whether 25's 250's or Capri 25's. We think this change should result in stronger fleets, with a wider diversity of membership. That's good for the fleets and for the NA.
I'm sharing this with y'awl so that you know what's happening in your National Association.
Don Peet, C25/250 2004-2005 National Association Commodore The Great Sacandaga Lake, NY
