Just finally bought a whisker pole and I'm not sure how to use it and where to store it. The pole is a good 1 7/8" adjustable (6-138") by forespar. Mine is a '79 25. Any pics would be great. Thanks, Jack
You can also put a second ring up the mast and store the pole clipped into both rings. You will need a string to the second piston clip so that you can release it. Dave

That is what I did. I used a ring set that appears to be the male and female ends of a shore power coupling. The larger rings mentioned above look better, mine is really tight and any larger pole end would not fit.
Frank, If memory serves me right you adjusted your seat out to overhang the pole to minimize bruised shins. Is that correct? Did you buy the pole latch from Forespar? Joe

No, the seat is already overhanging from the factory and that keeps shins from banging. The pole was on the boat and it is a Forespar.
