I hope this is not too off-topic, but since a lot of our members have expressed an interest in the Catalina 30 and several sail the Pamlico, I thought the group might find this interesting. It's a link to a friends web site that essentially chronicles his adventures on the Sound. The pictures are good and it's written well. Caused me to daydream when I should be working! One day...

John,
Your friends site looks good. I was thinking of going to San Francisco bay some time for a week or so and seeing if I could hook up with a Cat 30 and try that over there. Think I'll make sure the admrial sees this posting and that might convince her to try.

Its a great boat my wife and I have chartered a C-30 three different times. It works well for one or two couples for four or five days. I found that the Tall rig can be a handfull in heavy wind. If you are double handing, you'll want a boat with an auto pilot

cool pictures... we've been known to tell our dingbatters that the Ospreys in the distance are really Bald Eagles and the Shacklefold Ponies are really the Shacklefold Deer... it is fun to screw with the minds of tourists.
