Hi All,

It’s been about 10 months since my last post. Given the busy state my family is in, new career for me, second boy in high school play many sports and doing other school activities now as well as during the school year and a 4th grade girl that has many thing going on as well are a few of the reasons I have been away for awhile.

I pulled my C250wk #495 (formally known as Daylight Again) out of the water on December 26th thinking that it is too costly to leave the boat in the water when it was not getting use. So I decided to leave her on the trailer in a storage lot. After about 5 months it became evident I was not going to get time to use her in the foreseeable future plus this very fast C250 deserved better than just sitting on the trailer I decided to sell the 2003 C250 National Championship winning boat. This was a painful decision considering out of my 37 years of life I have been on my Dad’s sailboat or owned my own for 32 years.

The boat is now gone I’m not sure who the new owners are (the deal was all done through banks and dealers). I hope the new owners come across this site or if I do talk with them I will mention this site to them.

I would consider a lot of you as friends some I have met most I have not. I wish you all many great sails now and in the future. So if you see a newbie/deckhand with a signature profile of C250 #495 I’m sure you all will treat them with the same cordial friendly posts as you have me for the last 4plus years.

If it is not too painful I will look in on the forum every now and then. Who knows maybe I will come back to some future Nationals in a C25 TR/FK and give Derek & Milby a run for their money.

Good luck and thanks for your past participation with the association. We'll keep an eye out for good ol' #495.

As for you getting a C25 TR/FK in the future and racing Derek and Steve, you'll only be racing Derek because Steve traded in his C25 for a C&C 35.

Bryan - 'tis good to hear from you again. Several of us were wondering whence you had disappeared!
Sorry to hear that you sold the boat - I was hoping to see you at the Nationals (especially since Steve M. has also left our ranks).
We'd love to hear from you anytime on this forum - you have been a great asset.
Good luck and I hope you soon get water under your keel again.

Bryan, it will be a long time before we see another skipper who can drive a C250 like you did. The good thing is that you're already starting to think about your next boat. I really enjoyed seeing you and your Dad after so many years. Best wishes to you and your family in the future!

Sorry to see this post. Of course lives change and seasons turn and I hope Bryan you will find yourself back on the water when you want and need that to happen. I'll just throw in here that when I was looking hard for the right boat a couple of winters ago, lobbing up the usual newbie queries, there were people on this forum whose experience guided me to the 250 -- and Lo it has been the right boat, and I'm thankful to Beamer and Oscar and Cathluk and Frog as well as the generous C25ers like JimB and the Franks (<i>there's</i> a name for a rock and roll band) and I just hate to see any of you fade from sailing, even for a while.

Didn't mean to sound like I was accepting a statuette, it's only that we lurkers get tons of help here, and value the old guard.

Sorry to hear that you sold your boat Bryan. I always enjoyed your posts. When you visit your family in the area you are more than welcome to sail with me on Sea Major out of Hanna Creek. Good luck and let us know how you are doing from time to time. I am sure you will return to the water some day after all its in your blood.
